Hey guys, It's Bekah and I decided to write to you in spanish this week. It's also going to be in English for those who don't understand Spanish.
So, this past weekend I was in the musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and I played Sally Bellamy. It was so much fun! I made so many friends who quickly became very close. There were also some who were quite annoying though. Being my tenth show and all, I never realized that my old friends from past shows would be making new friends and not talking to the old ones as much. I was experiencing that with my friend who was playing Tom Sawyer. It made me happy to know that he came to me about if he was off key on one song though. He sang it and asked if it sounded right because he had been singing it lower than that. Other friends can become mad at you if you start something with them, but then leave them out of it once. I wrote her a long letter about how sorry I was to make her feel bad. Other things happened like pretending to be able to ball dance with one of my friends, trying to organize a family portrait for my family with the same last name as bellamy. It was a great show and now that it is over I am really sad.

Hola chicos, Es Bekah y decidí dirigirme a usted en español esta semana. También va a estar en Inglés para aquellos que no entienden español.
Por lo tanto, este fin de semana pasado estuve en el musical Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer, y yo jugamos a Sally Bellamy. Fue tan divertido! Hice muchos amigos que rápidamente se convirtió en muy cercano. También había algunos que eran bastante molesto, aunque. Siendo mi show décimo y todo, nunca me di cuenta de que mis viejos amigos de entregas anteriores iba a hacer nuevos amigos y no hablar con los viejos como mucho. Que estaba experimentando que con mi amigo que jugaba Tom Sawyer. Me alegró saber que él vino a mí acerca de si estaba fuera de tono en una canción sin embargo. La cantó y le preguntó si sonaba bien, porque había estado cantando más bajo que eso. Otros amigos pueden llegar a ser enojado con usted si usted comienza algo con ellos, para luego dejar fuera de una vez. Le escribí una larga carta sobre cuánto lo sentía para hacerla sentir mal. Otras cosas que pasó, como pretendiendo ser capaces de bailar a la pelota con uno de mis amigos, tratando de organizar un retrato de la familia de mi familia con el mismo apellido que Bellamy. Fue un gran espectáculo y ahora que es más estoy muy triste.

OGSD Slug Run 2012

The OGSD Slug Run 2012 is coming up! The slug run was originally developed in 2010 at Sakamoto school. The idea of a 5K family run spread to other OGSD schools. The slug run was created to help raise money for 6th graders to go to science camp, thus the name "Slug Run", after the Walden West banana slugs. This is the first year ever for the district wide slug run! All the schools contestants will meet at Sakamoto, and will receive a T-Shirt and a number. As they wait for the run to begin, they will be treated with music and other entertainment. When the race starts, the runners run for 3 miles until they reach Sakamoto again! Then they receive a goody bag with slug run merchandise! Then, the contestants end with a nice cool down and fresh water! The slug run happens May 12, 2012 at 8 o' clock! So get Psyched!

How To Be...

A Brony or Pegasister

First of all, a brony is a mix of bro and pony. This means that it's a boy who is obsessed with My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. A pega-sister is basically the same thing, but it is a girl. We have a few bronies and pega-sisters at our school, Olivia and I included. This is how to be a Brony or Pegasister.\

1. Have a heart... Accept the fact My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is ALL the rage.
2. Watch the first episode. The first season is on Netflix. The rest of the episodes are on youtube.
3. LOVE IT!
4. Get a My Little Pony shirt from Hot Topic.
5. Talk about it ALL THE TIME!!!!!!
6. Don't stop watching it!

That is just about it... We will post a My Little Pony tribute. It is a movie put to the time of  mostly Pinkie Pie. It is really funny! Enjoy!!!

Battle Of the Browsers

In the U.S, a war is happening, but not with weapons, with web browsers! For years, google chrome and Firefox have been battling it out in a debate to see who's better! Some people favor chrome, while others appreciate the gecko based flaming fox. Meanwhile, at Microsoft, Internet Explorer seems to be stuck in the mud, however, the newest Windows Operating System is going to include Internet Explorer 10, which Microsoft hopes to overcome the competition with. "Google Chrome is better" claims Spencer Xie, "It's fast, secure, and has a large viewing area". "I think Firefox is better" denies Niko Francisco " It's just better! I can't explain it!". Google chrome is rising in popularity, with its web store attracting a younger audience, although many people agree that playing what was originally an smart phone app just isn't that good on a PC or Mac. Both browsers have a variety of platforms that they can run on, but Firefox is more popular with Linux users, being the default web browser for Ubuntu and many other Linux based operating systems. Mac's browser, Safari, is also starting to catch up, including HTML5 and CSS3 capabilities. But the question is not what the public likes better, it's just how you prefer it!

Ghosts of a Giant

On the 15 of April, 1912, a massive ship called the Titanic slammed into an ice burg, killing 1,517 people. The tragedy sent shock throughout the nation. When the Titanic was created, it was considered invincible, because of it's massive size. With its huge accident, the titanic brought many new ghost stories. One of these stories was the story of Molly "unsinkable" Brown, who is said to have lived through the titanic crash. Now their are reports of her haunting her house. A funeral home that housed some of the people who died on the maiden voyage of the Titanic, strange things started happening when the funeral home was turned into a restaurant. The workers at the restaurant called the Five Fishermen Restaurant report strange, but common occurrences of glass flying off of shelves. Manager Gary MacDonald has a saying about the ghosts which is, "You must acknowledge them or they will pull stunts." What do you think? In 2008 the Alanta Constitution Journal published a story about Goergia Aquarium after the "Titanic Aquatic" was feartured there. Several aquarium members reported feeling depressed, or nauseated when they approached the displays of the ship. A man name Jaime Rodriguez and his family saw multiple appearances of the ghost of a guy named Dr. Dodge. Dr. Dodge was a survivor of the titanic who shot himself because of depression. Dr. Dodge and his family made it back to shore, but the people were skeptical of his survival, because he escaped with nothing but a cold. People started to accuse him of things, and eventually he could take it no longer, he went into his cellar, and shot himself in the side of the head. The Rodriguez family had been seeing the ghost for ten years, and until they finally spoke to him did he go away. Now his story has faded away, and they have not seen him since.With all of these creepy stories, many questions are to be asked, "Is it true?", "What are the ghosts doing?", and "Where did they come from?", but these questions may never be answered. EVER.

Minecraft: On Xbox360

Minecraft: Coming on Xbox360

          The one of the best PC games ever made: Minecraft, is coming on to the Xbox360. This game will come out on May 9, 2012. Microsoft is working with Mojang, the company that made the PC version of Minecraft, to make the Xbox360 game.

          This game is going to be like the PC version of Minecraft except there is no hunger and you can only change your skin with your avatar that you made on your Xbox360. And they change the crafting so that you can see it on your entire T.V. Also you use the Xbox360 controller to control your character and other stuff. This will also have the same updates as the PC version.

          This is a summary of the new Minecraft game on the Xbox360.

The Hunger Games

            "The Hunger Games" started as a book and eventually they made a PG-13 movie and released it on March 23, 2012. The book is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen of age 16. She and her mother and her sister, Primrose Everdeen, age 12 is now allowed to have her name at the reaping. The reaping is like a raffle, except you don’t want to get picked because you’ll have to enter the Hunger Games.

            The Hunger Games contestants are chosen by the reaping. The reaping picks one boy and one girl from each district. And there are 12 districts. So the 24 contestants fight each other until one person remains. He/she wins and he/she wins food for her entire district, for life.

            Prim gets chosen for the reaping, but Katniss volunteers, meaning that she will take Prim’s place. And for the boy, Peeta Mellark gets chosen. On the day of the Games they go to where the games are held: the Capitol.

            When the games start, Katniss runs to the nearest backpack and starts running away. Then Clove tries to kill her by throwing a knife at her back. Luckily it hits the backpack and she takes it for herself. Then later on in the book, she finds a hive of tracker jackers, they are sort of like bees but deadlier. She hits the hive down and she gets stung by 3, while the others sting Peeta (because he is her enemy right now), Cato, Clove, and they killed the girl from District 3 and more. Then she runs stays in the tree. Later she runs away and meets a girl named Rue from District 11. Eventually a boy from District 3 stabs Rue with a spear and then Katniss shoots the boy with an arrow and kills him. Then she buries Rue. Later in the book Katniss finds Peeta camouflaged and they team up and hide in a cave, and Katniss tries to heal Peeta because Cato sliced Peeta with a sword from his thigh to his calf, and the gash was about an inch deep. Then she heals him as much as possible. Later there are only 3 tributes left: Cato, Katniss and Peeta. At night the game makers release wild dog mutations. So Katniss and Peeta run out of the forest and climb up a cliff so that the mutations couldn’t get there. Then they see Cato run out of the forest and climb the same cliff they were on. Then, Katniss shoots an arrow and then Cato falls off the cliff, but his armor protects him. While the mutations attack him, Katniss finishes him off with an arrow to the head.

            At the end, the Gamemakers lied about having the rule that you got to team up so they would have a good show. Then Katniss and Peeta want to suicide so the other would win. So they get the berries called nightlock, which kills you instantly and they put it in their mouths and when they are about to chew, the Gamemakers stop them and declare them the winners.  

Top ten things to do in your free time

1. Spend your free time resting or sleeping

While some may prefer to spend it on fun or exciting activities, if you are tired during your waking hours then getting some quality rest can be the best thing to spend your free time doing. 
2. Catching up on your reading

If you're an avid reader, then you could spend your free time catching up on those books that you haven't had the time to read. Keep them in an area that you have easy access to and enjoy. 
3. Clean or fix up your home

being busy can make it hard to get your home tidy and clean. Try doing some housecleaning or rearranging of the rooms in your home.
4. Exercise and physical fitness

it’s always good to keep your body healthy. Go for a walk or visit the gym in your free time. Good health can make all other aspects of your life better including your work. 
5. Relax and calm your mind
    Meditating or relaxing in some other way can help clear your mind and make you feel better. You can also visit a sauna or get a massage to help you relax in your free time.

6. Draw something

Drawing something, calms down the human mind, unless you concentrate hard on what you’re drawing.

 7. Watch some television
you don't have to do something productive in your free time. Instead, just sit back and watch a movie or some television. Free time doesn't have to be about more work, try renting a favorite movie and relax. 
8. Surf the internet
the internet is full of fun and interesting things. Visit your favorite websites and learn new things in your free time. You can also play some online games and just enjoy yourself in your free time
9. Visit some friends or family
working too much can take away from your loved ones. Try calling some of them and having a chat, or organizing an outing to spend and bond with your friends and family. 
10. Cook a great meal

Find a recipe and get the ingredients and cook yourself a nice meal. Making yourself a great meal can be very satisfying. Share it with your family and loved ones and you've got a great way to spend your free time.
